KLT Primary Academy Games Day - Friday 15th July 2016
On Friday the 15th of July, at KLT Primary School, we hosted our annual Games Day. We finally had a day of sunshine and we took full advantage of the good weather conditions.
The children all participated in a sport chosen by the KLT Sports Crew. Each class did the following sport.
Robins : Inclusion Games
Wrens : Dodgeball
Goldfinches : Trigolf
Kingfishers : Trigolf
Woodpeckers : Handball
Golden Eagles : Ultimate Frisbee
The children ran the day, helping set up the pitches and equipment, also scoring, officiating and time keeping. We collated all the results and added up the score.
This year the winning team was ............. The GREEN team.
Children were also selected by their teachers to receive Value medals. The Value medals are given to those individuals that demonstrated a special quality, whilst playing their sport. The values the teachers were looking for were as follows: Determination, Teamwork, Passion, Respect, Honesty.
This years recipients were:
Determination : Timmy, Phoebe P, Summer, Jessica L, Oliver J, Lauryn.
Teamwork : Kiki, Rose, Heath, Oliver T, Freya, Grace.
Passion : Chloe, Sam, Tom W, Cauis, Julia, Harvey C.
Respect : Oskar, Maisie, Iga, Jacob D, Lucy, Tom.
Honesty : Lilly A, Micah, Erin Ba, Toby, Hayden, Joe.
All the children were superb and had a truly fabulous day. I would like to thank each and everyone of them, for all their help, support, and effort on the day.
Here is to Games Day 2017.
Race For Life 2016
This year at KLT, we decided to try and raise awareness for Cancer Research, by hosting a Race For Life. The children participated in running a lap of the school field and playground. Parents, Carers, Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents and other relatives were invited in to school to join in the fun. We worked out that each lap of the field was 0.1 of a mile, so ten laps amounted to 1 mile. Many children ran several laps, some totalling over 3 miles.
It was an incredibly hot day, but regardless of this everyone joined in, with spirits running high.
I am delighted to say, that not only did we run for a great cause, we also raised an enormous amount of money for a very worthy charity. So far the total is just over £1000. This is beyond anything we could have imagined. So I would like to say a massive THANK YOU, to everyone who got sponsored. Your generosity has been amazing.
Well done to everyone.
