Robin Class Nursery/ Reception
Welcome to the Robins Class Page
Hello Robins!
A huge welcome for our new members of Pre-School and Reception. I am so excited to start your learning journey with you.
This half term, we will be beginning to learn sounds in Phonics, we will explore the composition of numbers to 5 and we will share new stories together. Our topics for this half term will be 'Exploring Autumn' and 'Me and My Community'.
Please ensure your child comes to school each day with their water bottle. A bag of spare clothes and wellies would be great to leave in school, ready for the winter weather. Reception children should bring their red reading folders to school every day.
Our PE days this half term are Monday and Friday. Please come to school dressed in your PE kit on these days.
Updates, information and observations of your child's progress can be seen on your Tapestry accounts.

What to bring to school:
Children should bring their reading book and reading diary to school every day, in their school bookbag. Children also need to bring a named water bottle. A named sun hat and sun cream may also be brought in when required. Wellie boots can be brought in and left in school ready to be used in the winter months.
Tapestry
Please keep checking your Tapestry account for any class notifications and updates. We will upload the 'Big WOW Moments' of your child's learning and share these with you. Please upload any activities that you complete at home together. This could be baking, nature walks, sharing stories, spotting numbers or sounds while out and about etc. We would love to see your learning adventure continuing at home!
Reading books:
Your child's reading book will be changed weekly - on a Monday. As we progress with our Read Write Inc (Phonics) your child will bring home a reading book with simple captions and stories. Talk to your child about their book - can they retell the story in their own words, do they understand what has happened? These early comprehension skills are crucial in order to make progress throughout their time in school. Encourage your child to look at their own books at home and talk about what is happening in the story.
Please access our class library (located in the Robins cloakroom area). Books can be borrowed and changed as often as you would like. Please use the sign in and out form when borrowing books.
PE:
PE will take place on a Monday and Friday. Please come to school dressed in the correct PE kit (Plain black shorts/joggers, red school PE top and plain black jumper/hoodie) on these days.
