Bike It Bronze

A group of pupils attended an award ceremony at the Council Chambers in Sleaford, recognising all of our work towards the Bronze standard. Bronze is awarded to schools who have worked to bring about some organisational, cultural and behavioural changes which help the school community choose to travel in more active and sustainable ways.

For the second time, Kirkby la Thorpe School has won the Big Pedal competition, receiving a second scooter pod as a prize.
World Book Day Fun

Our school was inundated with story boxes to celebrate world book day and it was lovely to see the creativity of both our pupils (and their parents!). Throughout the day pupils took part in a variety of book related activities, and an enjoyable day was had by all
Sculpture Unveiling

At the beginning of March, a number of pupils participated in an exciting ceremony at the power station in Kirkby la Thorpe. Last year pupils took part in a number of workshops led by Michael Condron, the sculptor commissioned to design and make the piece for the power station. From these workshops, Michael incorporated a number of the children's ideas into his sculptor, and we were invited to help unveil the piece at the ceremony.
