  • Monday Morning Mile

    Mon 11 Jun 2018
As may have been seen, on Monday mornings a number of parents/carers from the Robin Class have been taking part in a run around our school field with the Reception pupils.  Mr. Smith is keen to open this to all of our parents/carers, so everyone is welcome to come along and join in.
  • Kirkby School Sports

As always, KLT has been involved in a hive of sporting activities this term.  On Friday, 20 April three groups of KS2 pupils were involved in orienteering festivals which took place in a variety of destinations, including Caythorpe Primary school Rauceby village and Winthorpe Community Centre. Well done to Holly and Florence who came third in the festival they attended.

On Friday, 27 April we hosted a Kabaddi festival.  Two teams took part from the Goldfinch class, working hard to grab the tags from their opponents.

On Friday, 4 May, another two festival took place.  A group of KS2 pupils visited Helpringham School to participate in a Tchoukball competition, a game that combines handball and volleyball skills, whilst another team also represented our school at Winchelsea for the tennis qualifier.

Friday, 11 May  was another busy day with a number of teams participating in the tag rugby competition.

Many thanks to all of our pupils for representing our school so well, and to the KLT staff for co-ordinating our attendance at all of the events

Many thanks to everyone who came and supported the opening of our new trim trail, funded by our Friends of School.  Since returning to school this term, the trim trail is in continual use.
  • Pedalling to Success

    Mon 11 Jun 2018
Kirkby la Thorpe School has had another successful year with The Big Pedal which began at the end of April for two weeks.  Parents, pupils and staff were encouraged to cycle or scoot to school with a range of prizes on offer.  To signal the end of the event we held a Blingy Bike Day and were overwhelmed with the imaginative entries.  Overall, our school came 71st out of  the 495 schools in the small school category.  Furthermore, our school was the bet performing in the region which resulted in a whole school prize from a BMX stunt rider.
