Kingfisher Class Year 3/4
Welcome to the Kingfisher Class
Reading:
It is expected that your child has their reading book with them for daily reading sessions. Books can be changed when your child has completed the book and this has been acknowledge in their reading diary, from someone at home. We encourage your child to be independent in changing and choosing books from the class or school library, however, your child will not change reading stages unless an adult within school has made this decision. Throughout the school week, children will read in guided sessions and may be heard individually too.

PE:
Currently the children are allowed to attend school in their PE kit on the days that PE is taught - Tuesdays and Thursdays (swimming) are our PE days this half term. (Some competitions will be held on Fridays, where your child will be required to wear their PE kit: if your child is involved they will be notified). If your child wears earrings please teach them to remove and replace them themselves.
Water:
Pupils may have a refillable, named water bottle for the classroom so that they can have access to drinking water throughout the day. Please note that this is for water only and not juice.

Home Learning
All children have access to TT Rock Stars online resource that can be used on a daily basis. The children are familiar with this resources and login details will be stuck in your child's reading diaries within the next two weeks.
Children should read with an adult or older sibling for at least 15 minutes per day. It is also expected that by the end of Year 4 all children have accurate recall of multiplication facts up to and including 12 x 12.
